# Managers and Staff

> The two roles on a ClubDock team — what a Manager can do, and what Staff can see and do.

Everyone on your team is either a **Manager** or **Staff**. Managers run the club. Staff run the sessions.

A Manager can do everything Staff can. Staff see a shorter menu — **Today**, **Registers**, **Calendar**, **Bookings**, **Reports** and **Settings** — and in **Settings** only **Registration** and **Terms**, both to read.

> If a staff member follows an old link to a manager's page, they see **Only managers can see this**. Nothing on the page is loaded for them.

## Choosing a role

Give someone **Manager** only if they need to handle money, change programmes or settings, or manage the team. A manager can remove other managers, including the one who added them.

Most clubs have one or two managers, and everyone else as staff.

## Rules that protect your club

* **A club always has a manager.** You can't remove or demote the last one.
* **Changing a role takes effect when they next sign in.** Roles are checked when someone signs in, so ask them to sign out and back in.
