If your club takes card payments, you can pay by debit or credit card when you book. Nothing is booked until the payment goes through, and your card is never charged unless there is a booking to charge it for.
Card payments are offered only if your club takes them. If you do not see Card at checkout, your club has not switched it on. Choose another way to pay, or ask the club.

Choose card

In your basket, under How would you like to pay?, choose card. The button changes to Continue to payment, and the line beneath it reminds you that nothing is booked until the payment goes through.

Enter your card details

A card form appears on the page. Your places are held for 20 minutes while you pay, and the screen says until when. Your card details go straight to Stripe, the payment company your club uses. They are never seen or stored by ClubDock or the club.

Pay

Once the payment goes through, your places are booked and you see your confirmation. It says the booking is paid, so there is nothing more to do.
You pay the price you were shown. Nothing is added for paying by card.

If you have account credit

Credit from an earlier cancellation is taken off first, and your card is only asked for the rest. The card form tells you how much your credit covers. If your credit covers everything, there is nothing to pay by card. You confirm the booking without paying.

If your bank asks you to check it is you

Some banks show their own page to confirm the payment. When you finish there, you come back to your basket. While the payment is still going through, it says Confirming your payment… This takes a moment. Please keep this page open. Once it is booked, you go to your confirmation. If it is still not settled after about thirty seconds, you are told to check your bookings in a few minutes. Your booking will be there once it is confirmed, and you will only ever be charged once.

If something goes wrong

Every way it can go wrong ends with one of two answers: your places are booked, or you have not been charged.
You cannot change your basket while the card form is open. To change something, go back to your basket first, then continue to payment again.
